Black Labrador Retriever (short coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Young : : Medium
Sullivan is a case where a dog needed immediate veterinary care, and the Animal Control Officer couldn't get in touch with other rescues, so Bluebonnet stepped up. Sullivan presented to the shelter with several open wounds on his back end. It's possible he was shot, but the vet said it's equally possible that another dog or more likely a coyote tried to attack this dog. The injuries are consistent with a coyote attack in terms of location and size. Sullivan is an amazingly sweet boy -- and every bit as handsome as he is sweet. He is VERY thin, but all of his test results were good -- no parasites, no tick-borne diseases, and best of all, no heartworms. The vet estimates him to be just a year old. Sullivan will have a course of strong antibiotics, along with anti-inflammatory meds, but he should make a full recovery.
